This double-sided allegorical woodcut originates from the Jost Amman’s work "Enchiridion Artis Pingendi, Fingendi et Sculpendi”. The work was published by Sigmund Feyerabend in Frankfurt, 1578.

Jost Amman (1539-1591) was a prominent German-Swiss artist and illustrator known for his detailed woodcuts and engravings during the late 16th century. His work often depicted scenes of daily life, trades, and artistic techniques, significantly influencing the visual culture of the Renaissance.
