Original German title: Andere Tafel in welcher alle gehörige Vestungs-Gebäu in unterschiedlichen Manieren der berühmtesten Ingenieurs zu finden. This detailed engraving presents a variety of fortification plans and military architectural profiles as practiced by renowned engineers such as Pagan, Vauban, and Blondel. The plate includes geometric base forms, star-shaped citadels, and complex bastion layouts, along with vertical profiles of ramparts and moats. Used for military instruction, these illustrative models demonstrated the evolution of fortress construction during the 17th and early 18th centuries and the shift toward mathematically precise, strategically effective layouts.
Christoph Weigel was a prominent German engraver, publisher, and cartographer based in Nuremberg. He produced numerous works of geographical and historical importance, often characterized by their precise engraving and elegant baroque ornamentation.
