Johann Christoph Weigel (1654–1725) was a prolific German engraver and publisher based in Nuremberg. He collaborated with the historian Johann David Köhler to produce educational atlases combining geographical accuracy with aesthetic appeal. His maps reflect the Enlightenment’s drive for clarity, structure, and accessibility, making them popular among students, travelers, and collectors throughout Europe.
