This rare and finely engraved set of four fungal plates features detailed depictions of mushrooms from the genera Nolanea and Amanita, showcasing characteristic forms, textures, and taxonomic structures in accordance with Linnaean classification. Each composition includes multiple species with anatomical dissections, developmental stages, and spore details. Among the illustrated specimens are Nolanea cetrata, Amanita vaginata, Amanita strobiliformis, Amanita eliae, and several others, rendered with remarkable delicacy and scientific clarity.

Carl Gustav Jablonsky (1756–1787) was a Prussian naturalist and illustrator based in Berlin, who served as private secretary to Queen Elisabeth Christine of Prussia. Though his career was cut short by an early death, Jablonsky played a formative role in the development of natural history illustration, working in close alignment with emerging Linnaean standards. His engravings are valued today for their precision, elegance, and lasting influence on taxonomic image-making.
