4818 Adalbert Seitz (1860–1938) – Set of 2 Butterfly Prints – Papilio Species –Chromolithography

This set includes two striking chromolithographic plates featuring tropical Papilio butterflies, taken from Adalbert Seitz’s monumental entomological series Die Gross-Schmetterlinge der Erde (The Macrolepidoptera of the World), published in Stuttgart by Fritz Lehmann's Verlag between 1909 and 1915. These exotic species are known for their large, vividly colored wings and elaborate tail extensions. The plates highlight the diversity of Papilionidae through detailed, scientifically accurate illustrations rendered in brilliant color.
