This ed. is particularly interesting from a topographical viewpoint because of some renovations to the buildings since the 1st ed. (1656-1666), the new pl. are oriented differently as well. Engr. ill.: 1 front.-portrait of Sanderus by F. van Bleyswyck, headpiece with portrait and coat of arms of the dedicatee Marie-Elisabeth by F. Bleysweyck, 3 title-vign. by D. Coster, 5 full-page pl. depicting i.a. Our Lady of Montaigu and Archduke Leopold William kneeling before the Virgin of Alsemberg, 61 double-page pl. showing abbeys, monasteries, convents, incl. Affligem, Brussels, Antwerp, Mechelen, Leuven, Averbode, Grimbergen, Tongerlo, Villers, etc., numerous in-text ill. depicting coats of arms of monasteries and their abbots or saints.
