Ulrik Thersner was a Swedish military officer, topographical surveyor, and engraver. After early naval service in Gustav III’s Russian War, he joined the Surveying Corps and eventually rose to the rank of major. Thersner is best known for his work Fordna och närvarande Sverige, where he combined cartographic skill and artistic vision to document Sweden’s architectural heritage.
