This panoramic view from the southern slope of Mount Avasaksa offers a sweeping vista of taiga, winding rivers, and gentle ridges under summer light. It was produced during the artist’s Arctic expedition and included in Voyage Pittoresque au Cap Nord.

Anders Fredrik Skjöldebrand (1749–1834) contributed to the early iconography of the Arctic by combining landscape art with geographic documentation. His engravings were intended for both aesthetic enjoyment and scientific education.
