Ulrik Thersner was a distinguished Swedish military officer and artist. Beginning his naval career as a young child during Gustav III’s Russian War, he advanced to roles in hydrographic surveying and the Surveying Corps. Thersner took part in military campaigns and rose to the rank of major in the Surveying Brigade. His artistic contributions include topographical engravings that combine scientific accuracy with artistic sensitivity.
