This historical map titled Judée ou Terre Sainte depicts ancient Judea and surrounding regions, based on biblical and classical sources. Published by Robert de Vaugondy and later corrected by Delamarche, it shows the divisions of the land by tribes, Roman administrative regions, and ancient cities. The territories are outlined in hand color according to the traditional regions: Galilee, Samaria, Judea, Idumea, and others. It was part of the Enlightenment-era interest in biblical geography and historical cartography.

Robert de Vaugondy (1723–1786) was a renowned French cartographer and geographer to the King of France. Together with his father Gilles Robert de Vaugondy, he produced some of the most influential atlases of the 18th century, including the Atlas Universel. Known for their accuracy and artistic engraving, the Vaugondy maps remain key historical documents of pre-Revolutionary Europe.
