93 Isaak Tirion (1705–1765) – Panoramic View of Vienna / Gezigt van de Keyzerlyke Hoofdstad Weenen – Engraved Print (1737)

This panoramic copper engraving titled Gezigt van de Keyzerlyke Hoofdstad Weenen depicts the imperial city of Vienna and its surrounding suburbs as viewed from the west. A dramatic sky and mountainous backdrop frame the city’s fortifications, with the spire of St. Stephen's Cathedral dominating the skyline. The lower margin includes a numbered legend identifying key architectural and civic landmarks such as Leopoldstadt, palaces, bridges, and religious institutions. The print was published in Amsterdam in 1737 as part of Hedendaagsche Historie, a popular historical chronicle issued by Isaak Tirion.
Isaak Tirion (1705–1765) was a Dutch publisher and bookseller known for his richly illustrated historical and geographical publications. Working in Amsterdam, he issued several major multi-volume works that combined maps, city views, and historical narratives. His publications, including Hedendaagsche Historie and Tegenwoordige Staat der Nederlanden, were widely read and respected for their quality engravings and detailed editorial content.
