5 Thomas Bowen (c.1733–1790) – Map of Europe / Map of Europe from the best Authorities – Engraved Map (1811)

This engraved map titled 'Map of Europe from the best Authorities' was published in An Impartial History of the War, from the Commencement of the Revolution in France, printed in Manchester by Russell & Allen in 1811. It provides a detailed view of European political geography during the Napoleonic Wars, featuring country names, major cities, rivers, and regional divisions, with the title enclosed in an oval frame in the upper right corner.The scale is approximately 1:24,100,000 and the verso is blank.
Thomas Bowen was a British engraver and cartographer, son of Emanuel Bowen, known for his engraved maps issued in historical and educational atlases. Although this particular work appeared posthumously, it continued to circulate through reprints and compilations well into the early 19th century.
