Apocal. XXI Ioannes ziet het Nieuwe Ierusalem & Apocal. XXII De Boom des Levens

This striking biblical engraving depicts scenes from the final chapters of the Book of Revelation: John beholds the New Jerusalem descending from heaven (Apocalypse XXI) and the vision of the Tree of Life (Apocalypse XXII). The composition is filled with symbolic imagery, rendered in a vivid Baroque style. It is part of Histoire du Vieux et du Nouveau Testament, published in Amsterdam by Pierre Mortier in the early 1700s.

Pierre Mortier (1661–1711) was a French cartographer and publisher who worked primarily in Amsterdam. He is known for producing richly illustrated religious works, most notably Histoire du Vieux et du Nouveau Testament, which combined dramatic copperplate engravings with scriptural storytelling.
