65 Henri Abraham Chatelain (1684–1743) – Administrative Chart of the States-General of the Seven United Provinces / Gouvernement des États des Sept Provinces Unies – Large Engraving (1719)

This detailed administrative chart presents the political structure and power distribution within the States-General of the Seven United Provinces (Dutch Republic). The central engraving features the principal council surrounded by subsidiary scenes depicting provincial assemblies such as those of Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Friesland, Overijssel, and Groningen. Each vignette showcases the composition and hierarchy of representatives and magistrates, with explanatory text elaborating the duties and privileges of each institution. This composition offers valuable insight into the complex federal governance of the Dutch Republic during its Golden Age. The engraving was published in Chatelain's celebrated Atlas Historique.
