8 Johann Baptist Homann (1664–1724) – Circulus Rhenanus Superior – Large Hand-Colored Copperplate Engraving (c.1720)

Johann Baptist Homann (1664–1724) was a German cartographer and engraver, known for his highly detailed and beautifully decorated maps. He founded the Homann publishing house in Nuremberg, which became one of the most important centers of map production in Europe during the 18th century. His works combined scientific accuracy with artistic elegance, often including allegorical cartouches and city views.​
