194 Flavius Vegetius Renatus – De Re Militari & Other Classical Military Treatises – Printed Book with Woodcut Illustrations (1607)
A major early 17th-century compilation of classical Roman military treatises, including De Re Militari by Flavius Vegetius Renatus, Strategemata by Frontinus, and additional military works by various ancient authors. This edition, published in 1607, was prepared by Dutch humanist Petrus Scriverius and enriched with commentary by Godfried Stewechius and Franciscus Modius.
The volume includes 47 impressive woodcuts depicting Roman siege machines, formations, coins, and tactical diagrams. Printed in Latin, the book is a vital source for the study of ancient military science during the Renaissance.

Bound in contemporary limp vellum with handwritten spine title. The binding is worn with some soiling; text pages show minor foxing, consistent with the book’s age, but it remains in good condition overall.
