190 Heinrich Friedrich von Fleming (1674–1760) – Der Vollkommene Teutsche Jäger (1719)

First edition of Der Vollkommene Teutsche Jäger, the most significant German treatise on hunting in the 18th century. Published in Leipzig by Martini between 1719 and 1724, this monumental work is presented in two volumes (Part II lacking the appendix titled Der wohl-unterrichtete Teutsche Fischer). It includes two double-page frontispieces, a finely engraved portrait of the author, and 83 out of 110 originally issued copperplate engravings, of which 10 are double-page.
This encyclopedic manual covers all aspects of German aristocratic hunting culture, including falconry, big game hunting, hound training, weaponry, and associated rituals. The text is printed in Fraktur type. The volumes are bound in modern half leather and half cloth bindings and are cited in major bibliographies such as Schwerdt I, 175; Lindner 611.01; and Souhart 187 (only Vol. I). Not listed in VD18.
