Peter Akerlund was a Swedish artist, draftsman, and graphic artist, born around 1835 in Uppland, Sweden. He became known for his works depicting birds and other natural subjects. Åkerlund studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, and his works left a notable impact on Swedish artistic and ornithological history. He passed away on May 24, 1871, in Paris, France
