These vibrant chromolithographs are from Adalbert Seitz’s "Die Gross-Schmetterlinge der Erde". The work was published in Stuttgart by Fritz Lehmann's Verlag, 1909-15.

Adalbert Seitz (1860–1938) was a renowned German entomologist and lepidopterist. He is best known for his monumental work "Die Gross-Schmetterlinge der Erde" (The Macrolepidoptera of the World), a comprehensive multi-volume study on butterflies and moths from around the globe. His work remains one of the most significant references in entomology, featuring detailed descriptions and vivid illustrations. Seitz's contributions greatly advanced the scientific understanding and classification of Lepidoptera.
