Scriverius (1576-1660) of the major annotated edition by the Dutch humanist Stewechius (1557-1588), focusing on the primary classical sources for the Roman Army. The book with 47 large woodcuts showing Roman machinery and tactics. The book also includes notes by the Bruges humanist Fr. Modius (1566-1597). It features 47 large woodcuts depicting Roman machinery and tactics, numerous woodcut illustrations of coins, diagrams, and smaller illustrations. There is a woodcut printer's mark on the title page and a different one on the part title.
