Attractive large antique engraved map "Regni Bohemiae, Dvc. Silesiae, Marchionatvvm Moraviae et Lvsatiae" by Homann Heirs, originates from "Maior Atlas Scholasticus ex Triginta Sex Generalibus et Specialibus…". This book was Homann's second school atlas, published after his 1719 "Atlas Methodicus". While the "Atlas Methodicus" seemed to be intended for the younger school child with its system of blank maps and indexes, this "Atlas Scholasticus" was clearly intended for the more advanced student with its use of the same maps as appeared in Homann's various editions of his atlases. The author depicts historical parts of the Czech Republic: Bohemia region, Silesia, Moravia.
