This beautiful set of 4 lithographs is from Erik Dahlberg’s "Suecia antiqua et hodierna" (Latin for 'Ancient and Modern Sweden'). The works were published in Stockholm in 1856.

Erik Dahlberg (1625-1703) was a Swedish count, general, and notable cartographer. He became renowned for his engineering skills and contributions to the fortification of Sweden, playing a crucial role in the Thirty Years' War and the Northern Wars. His most famous work is "Suecia antiqua et hodierna," a series of engravings depicting Swedish cities and castles, which became an important cultural and historical resource. Dahlberg also significantly influenced architecture and urban planning, leaving a lasting impact on the development of Swedish infrastructure.
