This double-page chromolithograph presents an extensive variety of moths from the genera Aplecta, Tholera, and Cerapteryx, including numerous male and female specimens, such as Aplecta advena, Tholera gollath, Cerapteryx grisea, and Cerapteryx mendax. These detailed illustrations were published as part of Adalbert Seitz’s monumental entomological series Die Groß-Schmetterlinge der Erde (The Macrolepidoptera of the World), one of the most comprehensive visual works on butterflies and moths ever compiled. The plates were intended to aid in the classification and study of Lepidoptera across the Palaearctic region.The work was published in Stuttgart by Fritz Lehmann's Verlag, 1909–1915.
