Hand-coloured woodcut originates from John Richardson and William S. Dallas’s work ”The Museum of Natural History. The Animal Kingdom: Quadrupeds, Birds, Reptiles, Fishes, Shells, and Insects”. The work was published by William Mackenzie, London, Edinburgh & Glasgow, 1859-68.

William Mackenzie was a 19th-century British publisher known for producing illustrated books, particularly in the fields of natural history and geography.
