Jean-Louis Demarne (1752–1829) was a French artist renowned for his landscape paintings and genre scenes, particularly depictions of rural life. Born in Brussels, he moved to Paris at an early age and trained at the Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture. His work was influenced by Dutch masters and Romantic ideals, characterized by detailed portrayals of peasant life, market scenes, and pastoral landscapes. Demarne became a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts and regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon.
