Jan Luyken (1649-1712) was a Dutch poet, illustrator, and engraver known for his prolific output in both literature and visual arts. He produced numerous works ranging from religious and historical illustrations to poetry and books on the Mennonite faith. Luyken's engravings are particularly celebrated for their intricate detail and expressive depiction of scenes, influencing both his contemporaries and later generations of artists.
