"Sisygambis kneeling before Alexander the Great"

Copper engraving by Coenraed Lauwers after Pietro da Cortona originates from series engravings after the lunettes, which were painted by Pietro da Cortona between 1641 and 1647 in three halls of the Pitti Palace in Florence, published by Giovanni Giacomo De Rossi in Rome, 1691.

Coenraed Lauwers (1632–1685) was a Flemish engraver known for his Baroque-style engravings. He worked in Antwerp and was recognized for his detailed reproductions of artworks by various painters, contributing to the spread of their compositions through prints.
