102 Jacques-Nicolas Bellin (1703–1772) – View of the Castle of Batavia – Engraving (1753)

Jacques-Nicolas Bellin was a French cartographer and naval officer, who served as the first Ingénieur Hydrographe de la Marine. He was a key figure in 18th-century cartography, known for his prolific and highly accurate maps of coasts and ports around the world. His works, including Petit Atlas Maritime, were considered authoritative for many years and contributed significantly to navigational knowledge.
