This superb anatomical engraving titled TABULA CCXXXV is taken from Icones anatomicae; Iconum anatomicarum explicatio by Leopoldo Marco Antonio Caldani, published in Venice between 1801 and 1814. Created as a reference for medical students and practitioners, this copperplate engraving belongs to one of the most important anatomical atlases of the Enlightenment, offering a comprehensive visual guide to human internal anatomy.
Leopoldo Caldani (1725–1813) was a renowned Italian anatomist and physiologist, known for advancing neuroanatomy and promoting anatomical illustration as an educational tool. A student of Giovanni Battista Morgagni, Caldani later held the anatomy chair at the University of Padua and collaborated with his nephew Floriano Caldani in creating this monumental work.
