4515 Anders Fredrik Skjöldebrand (1749–1834) – Waterfall of Kattila Below the Arctic Circle – Engraving (1801)

This engraving captures the powerful waterfall of Kattila, rendered with tumbling cascades and surrounding coniferous forests. The image conveys both the dynamic force and isolation of Lapland’s terrain. It appeared in Voyage Pittoresque au Cap Nord.
Anders Fredrik Skjöldebrand (1749–1834) recorded the rugged Arctic regions of Scandinavia with artistic skill and scientific accuracy. His visual records of Lapland and the North Cape were among the earliest and most influential images of the Arctic wilderness in European art.
