This copperplate engraving depicts the imposing waterside façade of Count Carl Piper’s Palace in Stockholm, known locally as Grafen Pipers Pallast. Rendered in a precise, low‐angled perspective, the print highlights the richly ornamented Renaissance gable, hipped roofs, and stepped street frontage, with fishing boats moored at the quay to the right. Pedestrians, dockworkers, and carriages animate the scene, underlining the palace’s proximity to Stockholm’s bustling maritime trade. Bodenehr’s meticulous linework captures the building’s sculptural embellishments and the texture of its stone façade, while his balanced composition situates the palace within the urban and economic life of the city.

Gabriel Bodenehr was a German engraver and publisher based in Augsburg, celebrated for his series of European architectural views that combined documentary precision with Baroque elegance.
