The main work on German hunting in the 18th century, here missing the appendix to the second volume titled Der wohl-unterrichtete Teutsche Fischer.

With 2 double-page engraved frontispieces, an engraved portrait, and 83 (instead of 110; 10 double-page) copper engravings. 12 leaves, 656 (recte 356), 4 pp., pp. 357-400, 111 pp., 16 (lacking the final blank), 4 leaves, 12, 8 (instead of 8), 224 pp.; 1 leaf, pp. (225)-364. Modern half leather and modern half cloth bindings. First edition. Schwerdt I, 175; Lindner 611.01; Souhart 187 (only Vol. I). Not listed in VD 18.

  • Condition:Bound together (in half leather) are Part I and the beginning of Part II with sections I-IV; separately bound is Der fortgesetzte immerwährende Jäger-Calender. Present in Part I are the frontispiece, the portrait, and plates A-Z, AA-ZZ, AAA-CCC, EEE-HHH, MMM-OOO; in Part II, the frontispiece (Plate 1) and plates 2-8, 12, 19-22, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, 35, 37, 38-42, and 47-49. Tightly bound, several plates with marginal damage, small corner tears, or tears extending into the image; occasionally water-stained, more heavily foxed in places, and paper browned due to age.
