This expansive hand-coloured copperplate engraving shows the full extent of the Russian Empire, from Eastern Europe to the coasts of the Pacific and Arctic Oceans. Titled Karte vom ganzen Russischen Reich, the map details Siberia, Tartary, and surrounding regions including parts of Persia, China, and the Arctic Sea. Published in Nuremberg by A.G. Schneider and Weigel, the map is densely labelled in German, with an emphasis on geography, rivers, cities, and provincial boundaries. The topography is rendered with bold relief lines and accentuated with watercolour borders.
