35 John Henry Franks (1770–1830) – Map of the Battle of Waterloo – Plan of the Scene of Operations – Engraved Map (1817)

This historical engraving shows the battle positions and troop movements during the Battle of Waterloo, one of the most decisive engagements in European history. The map is divided into two parts: the upper section illustrates detailed troop formations at Mont-Saint-Jean and surrounding terrain, while the lower section offers a broader Map of the Scene of Operations encompassing the movements of French, British, and Prussian forces. Published by Nuttall, Fisher & Dixon in Liverpool shortly after the battle, the map served both strategic and commemorative purposes.
