This original hand-coloured lithograph, plate No. 91, is from The Beauty of the Heavens: A Pictorial Display of the Astronomical Phenomena of the Universe, published in London in 1849 by David Bogue. The book contains 104 plates depicting celestial events and astronomical phenomena in a striking and accessible visual language. Each scene was designed to educate and inspire awe in the viewer, often combining dramatic natural landscapes with detailed scientific explanations.
