The original German title "Wiltzburg am Nordgow bey Weissenburg gelegen" is printed at the top. The bird's-eye view reveals the star-shaped bastion fort, strategically positioned on a plateau above the surrounding valleys and fields. Numbered elements identify parts of the fort, including barracks, the central courtyard, and artillery platforms. This print belongs to Bodenehr’s series of fortified sites across Europe, demonstrating early 18th-century military architecture.

Gabriel Bodenehr was a noted engraver and publisher from Augsburg, part of a renowned family of mapmakers. He specialized in city views and plans of fortifications, which served both as documentary records and as visual tools for military and political study. The map was published in Augsburg around 1720.
