This 17th-century print depicts Saint Lebuin, an Anglo-Saxon missionary venerated for his Christianization efforts in the Low Countries. Shown holding a processional cross and an open book, the saint is surrounded by a radiant halo, emphasizing his sanctity and spiritual authority. The Latin and Dutch captions at the bottom recount his ecclesiastical role and veneration in the Netherlands. The engraving is part of the series Saints of the North and South Netherlands, based on designs by Pieter Soutman.

Cornelis Visscher was a Dutch engraver from Haarlem, renowned for his masterful technique and sensitive portrayals. Trained under Pieter Claesz Soutman, he became one of the leading reproductive engravers of the Dutch Golden Age. His work is notable for its precision, expressive detail, and subtle rendering of texture and light. Though his career was short-lived, ending with his early death in 1658, his engravings remained influential and widely collected.
