Plate 21: St Magna, seated on a rock facing left, reading from the book on her lap; a crucifix at her side.

Engraving by Boetius Adams Bolswert after Abraham Bloemaert, published in Antwerp, 1619.

The engraving depicts Saint Magna, a lesser-known Christian martyr venerated for her piety and spiritual strength. She is shown in a traditional devotional pose, rendered with detailed linework typical of early 17th-century Flemish engraving. The composition emphasizes both grace and solemnity, reflecting the stylistic influence of Abraham Bloemaert, whose design inspired this work.
