Nicolaes Berchem (1620–1683) was a prominent Dutch painter and etcher, known for his pastoral landscapes and depictions of animals. As one of the leading figures of the Dutch Golden Age, Berchem was part of the Haarlem school of painters and was greatly influenced by Italian landscapes, which he often incorporated into his work.
