19 Adriaan van den Spiegel & Giulio Casseri - Human skeleton, seen from the front
Description
This rare engraving is from Adriaan van den Spiegel’s ”De humani corporis fabrica liber decem, tabulis XCIIX. æri icisis elegantissimis, nec antehac visis exornati. Opus posthumum” and Giulio Casseri’s ”Tabulæ anatomicæ LXXIIX. omnes novæ nec ante hac visæ”, published by Matthäus Merian in Frankfurt, 1632.
Casserio's and van den Spiegel's two posthumous works have here been combined and published by Daniel Bucretius (Rindfleisch). The plates were first published in Venice in 1627 in folio format and have been re-engraved in quarto format for this edition.
