Thure Alexander von Mentzer, born on September 16, 1807, in Oltorp, Dimbo parish, Skaraborg County, died on February 11, 1892, was a Swedish cartographer. After serving as a cornet in the Life Regiment Hussar Corps from 1828 to 1833, von Mentzer was appointed second lieutenant in 1838 and promoted to lieutenant in 1848. He published several regulations and communication maps, along with numerous geographical, historical, and statistical cartographic works, most of which were intended for educational use. His contributions significantly advanced the field of cartography in Sweden, particularly in the context of education.
